Once again I chose to do this portrait to add to my collection of great, inspirational leaders of generations. I strongly believe in having these pious individuals grace the walls in order to be as a constant example and role model permanently on display. I used a square canvas in order to bring a modern feeling to the painting.
Rav Ovadia Yossef Zt’l was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1920 and passed away in Jerusalem, Israel in 2013 at the age of 93. He was a leading authority in Jewish law as well as serving as the Sephardi chief Rabbi of Israel from 1973 to 1983.
