I greatly enjoyed creating this commission for someone who was very close to Rav Moshe Feinstein Zt’l.
With this portrait I discovered the amazing benefits of the wood panel. It was my first time painting on this medium and I realised I was able to include so many more finer details which results in an extra sharp clarity to the portrait.
Rav Moshe Feinstein Zt’l was born in Belarus in 1895 and passed away in 1986 at the age of 91 in New York. He was an incredibly revered Rabbi as well as being a strong authority on Jewish law; in which many contemporary Rabbinic literature reference his rulings.
