This piece I composed based on a sentence in Psalms 126:5 which translates as “those who sow in tears will reap in joy”. The tears falling down the Western wall symbolises our struggles, pain and suffering. However these very tears are what will bring us to a beautiful salvation in which we will ‘reap in joy’ as represented by the rose. The rose itself I painted with strong, vibrant colours in order to infuse the painting with a deep sense of emotion.
